Timothy P. Thomas of Newport Medical Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Timothy P. Thomas ranked in top five percent of the nation's respiratory care practitioners
Mission Viejo, CA, March 10, 2010 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Timothy P. Thomas, Western Regional Sales Manager for Newport Medical, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence during his tenure as a Respiratory Therapist and in sales management.
Timothy P. Thomas, a 25-year veteran as a Respiratory Therapist is ranked in the top five percent of the nation's Respiratory Care Practitioners by the Lambda Beta Society, the national honor society for the profession of Respiratory Care. Now celebrating his fifth year as Western Regional Sales Manager for Newport Medical, Mr. Thomas manages sales and marketing activity in the 13 Western States. Mr. Thomas is responsible for sales of ventilator systems to hospitals, home care companies, long-term acute care facilities and EMS services. More recently Mr. Thomas has been working with individual hospitals, states, cities and counties in their efforts to stockpile ventilators for emergency preparedness in the event of a pandemic or natural disaster. Mr. Thomas develops, maintains and enforces contracts with Regional Territory Sales Managers, Distributors and Manufacturing Representatives.
A licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, during his tenure with Newport Medical, Mr. Thomas drafted the original Design Performance Specifications and Software Release Specifications for Newport's latest critical care ventilator. Mr. Thomas is still very active in recommending continuing enhancements to the Newport e360 ventilator.
Mr. Thomas has consulted and worked with numerous prestigious hospital physicians as well as the MDA and ALS Associations as one of the pioneering leader in the newer modes of ventilation, which are not well known in the industry. These new modes are known as Sip & Puff and NIV ventilation. These new modes of ventilation are non-invasive, which allows patients with neuromuscular diseases to have a better quality of life and affords them the opportunity to continue to be productive in society. Utilizing this rare application, Mr. Thomas received great personal satisfaction, when he treated a 14 year old girl, given six weeks to live. He was able to extend her life and provide her a better quality of life for a period of eight months.
Mr. Thomas' specializes in Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care and strives to see that these unfortunate ventilator dependant children are able to transition home to a loving and nurturing environment, and achieve the best quality of life possible.
Mr. Thomas credits his success achieved to date to a foundation created by his time in the Marine Corps; which provided him with the self respect, discipline, organizational skills, ambition and drive to achieve. Mr. Thomas graduated top of his class in both of his degrees; he holds a Bachelors of Science in Business and Management and an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care. His professional affiliations include: the California Society for Respiratory Care, American Association for Respiratory Care, Whitehead Leadership Society and Lambda Beta National Honor Society. Mr. Thomas is a strong supporter of the Military and contributes regularly to the USO, DAV, PVA and Toys for Tots.
Mr. Thomas works with the Rotary, and once he convinces hospitals to donate their old equipment; makes sure, that his equipment receives a new home in a less fortunate country. Mr. Thomas would eventually like to follow this equipment to these countries and teach respiratory medicine.
